The Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System was introduced by Dow AgroSciences in the 1990s. It is a system that uses noviflumuron as bait for termites. This bait is designed to disturb the molting of termites and destroys the termites using the termites themselves. The worker termites find the bait (which studies have shown they prefer to wood) and bring it back to the colony. They continue to eat this bait and feed it to other members of the colony until the worker termites die and are no longer able to feed the colony.
Other systems involve digging trenches around the home, treating the soil, treating the components of the home, and then filling the trenches with the soil that has been treated. The Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System is designed differently. Cylinders are placed 10 ft. apart around your home. Inside the cylinder is a wooden monitoring device. When the cylinders sense termite activity, the wooden monitor is replaced with the bait. This process is much less invasive than digging a trench around your home. The Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System gets rid of termites using only a small amount of noviflumuron as opposed to hundreds of gallons of chemical solution used in past methods. It is especially nice since you don’t even need to be home in order for us to check your system.
At Sterling Pest Control, we feel that this system is truly unique. It is safe for pets and children, it is able to be checked easily, and the active ingredient will not harm vegetation growing around the cylinders. This system is environmentally friendly and has been proven to be effective over the last 15 years. If you want complete peace of mind about termites and your home, the Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System is a great option.
